    Kent State University alumnus Nick Saban, considered one of the greatest college football coaches of all time, has retired from the University of Alabama, where he coached the Crimson Tide for the past 17 seasons. Saban, a native of Fairmont, West Virginia, graduated from Kent State with his bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 1973 and earned his master of education degree in health and physical education in 1975.

    Performance reviews are correlated with compensation, promotion, and career decisions in the labor market. Using data from Reflektive, formerly an employee performance management company, I examine gender differences in over 100,000 performance reviews for 170 companies across 12 different industries. I find that women rate their performance lower than men, and these differences persist when accounting for external manager and peer reviews of the worker's performance.
