    FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - The summer solstice coincided with an historic night of tornadoes and extreme winds in the Red River Valley. One tornado was deadly, killing three people in rural Enderlin, ND. Intense straight-line winds, clocked as high 111 mph and estimated up to 120 mph caused extensive damage in many areas. For some, those intense winds lasted over an hour. In addition, very large hail fell with one viewer sharing a photo of a hailstone up to 4 inches in diameter.

    FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - From the Cass County Sheriff: At approximately 11:40 p.m. on 06/20/25, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to rural Enderlin for tornado damage to a residence. Once deputies arrived on the scene, the Enderlin Fire Department let them know that storm chasers had located two deceased people as a result of the tornado.

Shortly after learning of this, the Enderlin Fire Department was dispatched to another location, and a third deceased person was found as a result of the tornado.

Skies will remain hazy with few clouds. By Friday PM, the smoke aloft begins to mix down to the surface. Thick smoke is likely Saturday into Sunday.
