    An unauthorised group of campers have taken over a children's football pitch in Cornwall without permission. At least six vehicles including trucks and motorhomes, as well as a caravan, have claimed the pitch at Ludgvan Lions Junior Football Club, near Penzance. Joe Pritchard, vice chair, said they showed up on Thursday night (April 17), ripping off the gate to gain access. He said they were "very aggressive" and "threatening" when confronted.

The Chronicle, on Chapel Hill in Exmouth, opened under new ownership just under three years ago and in that time has been praised for its "quality food".     Devon and Cornwall are bracing for downpours as a 15-hour weather warning for rain is coming into force this afternoon (Friday, April 18). The region can expect a damp start to the bank holiday weekend for Easter with warnings of a "prolonged spell of rain". The official Met Office warning will come into place from 2pm today having been brought forward from 6pm this evening. It will continue through until Saturday at 8am.
