Could even see a little more sunshine around the coast by afternoon. Winds will begin to pick up as a deep trough approaches the West Coast. Temperatures will drop sharply into Saturday—most notably inland. Winds could gust as high as 40mph, and there will be some chance for precipitation.

A deep marine layer will persist, keeping conditions cool and at least partly cloudy. An area of low pressure will develop in a deepening trough today and approach the coast. As it does so, we’ll destabilize somewhat this afternoon—enough perhaps to get a few showers popping up over the mountains and perhaps an isolated thunderstorm.

    Quiet Easter Weekend SALINAS, Calif. (KION) –  Expect a dry and quiet holiday weekend. High pressure begins to nudge in from the southwest which will warm temperatures a bit—especially inland. Onshore flow and high low level moisture will keep clouds and cooler temperatures present at the coast into the weekend.  Rest of today: Widespread clouds early, then becoming mostly cloudy on the coast but sunny inland. Warmer, but still cool on the coast with highs in the upper 50s to mid-60s.
