Wanting a change of pace and to improve their work-life balance, Chloe and Phil, decided to use their renovation experience to downsize, and in the process, turn an unloved wreck into a relaxed, family home. Together with their two children and cat, they moved to a slightly smaller house for an easier life. ‘We were living in what we thought would be our forever home; a six-bedroom Victorian house that we’d spent seven years renovating.

On first viewing of the property back in 2019, this 70s house was in need of re-decoration, plus the layout badly needed re-working, but despite the issues, the home owner could see it was full of potential. ‘The house was bright and airy, had large rooms and felt like a great blank canvas… and we were in it for the long game with this renovation,’ says home owner Laura Deller @houseprojectuk.

Having already completed the full renovation of their last property - and thoroughly enjoying the process - Djimbi Samb and her husband Huseyin were itching for a new project to start on. ‘We wanted somewhere a bit bigger, with a guest bedroom and some office space as I work from home as an interior designer @djimbisambinteriors and antiques dealer and because our children were getting older we really needed a bit more space too.
