Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Buffalo firefighters battled a three-alarm blaze on Saturday morning on the city's West Side. The incident occurred just before 6 a.m. ET at a vacant home at 325 Connecticut Street, between Plymouth and Normal Avenues. One firefighter had to be rushed to Erie County Medical Center. Officials say his injuries are not life-threatening. The fire spread to an adjacent home, where firefighters had to rescue two individuals inside.

Tonawanda, N.Y. (WBEN) - Heavy rain on Monday afternoon led Town of Tonawanda officials to close roads and issue a travel alert. Portions of Sheridan Drive near Delaware Road were closed due to severe flooding. The intense rainfall caused flash flooding in underpasses and other areas with poor drainage. The Town of Tonawanda Highway Department advised residents that it could take several hours for the water levels to decrease.
