    The Dogwood Jamboree returns at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 21, with a show titled “Country Music at Its Best,” in the Palestine High School Auditorium. The show includes performances by past winners of the Jamboree’s Youth Talent Search Contest, in which young performers vie for a chance to compete in the finals and earn the annual prize. Donny Dotson of Corsicana and Daniel Barlow of Palestine are two of the returning winners.

    Palestine Community Theatre’s Improv Group is hosting a murder mystery dinner theater titled “Funeral For a Gangster” at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, June 21. The event is a fundraiser for the theater and includes a six-course meal served by the Queen St Grille’s culinary staff. A meet and greet begins at 6:30 p.m. in the lobby of The Redlands Hotel, where guests will meet the cast and be able to ask them questions before the show.

    Rock Bottom Ranch is celebrating the opening of its new Aftercare Resource Center at 1 p.m. Thursday after years of fundraising and construction. The event includes a ribbon cutting at 2 p.m., an open house and tour of the facilities and refreshments provided by Chick-fil-A.
