On this week’s Lisa Wexler Show, Marissa Gillett discussed the recent furor over the rate increase requested by United Illuminating, owned by Avangrid. To put this in perspective, this is the first official “rate case” that has been heard by PURA since it was chaired by Ms. Gillett, who was appointed to this position in 2019. In response to a requested rate increase of $131,000,000, PURA issued a draft decision allowing an increase of only $2,000,000.
