    China will cancel or reduce export tax rebates for a number of products starting from December 1, including several related to energy transformation, according to a November 15 document jointly issued by China’s Ministry of Finance and the State Administration of Taxation. Li Chao, chief economist of Zhejiang Securities, wrote in Caixin that China’s total exports from January to October 2024 amounted to about CNY 20.8 trillion (USD 2.87 trillion).

    Asia By Liu LicanOn November 8, China issued its first Energy Law, which aims to support the development and utilisation of renewable energy and increase the proportion of non-fossil energy consumption. The law, which will come into effect in January 2025, stipulates that the state will formulate long-term development goals, monitor the yearly development and utilisation of non-fossil energy, and institute a minimum proportion of renewables in energy consumption.
