(Yicai) Jan. 16 -- China continues to gain ground in the global gaming industry, with many Chinese video games seeing a surge in revenue from overseas markets last year, according to multiple rankings and reports. China's video gaming sales overseas rose 13.4 percent to USD18.6 billion last year from the previous one, according to a report by the Game Publishing Committee of the China Audio-Video and Digital Publishing Association and Gamma Data released last month.

Xiaohongshu jumped to the first from the 209th spot on the US App Store within a week, according to the latest rankings. Over the past year, it had only reached as high as 24th.

(Yicai) Jan. 10 -- In a bid to attract more viewers, Bilibili has for the first time in the Chinese video-sharing site’s 15 years secured the rights to live stream the CCTV New Year’s Gala, China’s most-watched program of the year. Under the deal agreed with the show’s producer China Media Group, Bilibili will introduce specially designed interactive features for this year's broadcast and will also set up a dedicated account for the event, a representative told Yicai.
