And a baseball cartoon (‘tis the season!)Harvard says it will not comply with Trump’s demands of asking for merit-based in hiring and admissions, and report international students who broke rules (whatever that means). Harvard calls this request illegal and is the first major university to say no to Trump. Other universities have pushed back, but Harvard is calling his demand illegal, which is a first for a higher institution. Fantastic.

It’s actually something I drew in aroung 2018, and the magazine had it in its bank all these years! Someone there decided to publish it this week — timely, unfortunately. The New Yorker has a huge storage of bought cartoons from a lot of us regular contributors, I don’t know how many, but I am guessing a lot.

The Guardian reports that tens of thousands of people took to the streets. The NY Times has nothing on it’s homepage today about the protests. People were instructed to gather at Bryant Park on 42nd St and Fifth Avenue. It was packed. There was the sound of bagpipes, so I went to investigate. It confused me.

He wants a third termLiza Donnelly·Follow2 min read·--I love birds, have been an amateur bird watcher most of my life. This cartoon started this way: I wanted to draw a farm fence. Then I put a bird on one post and wondered what else to include. Then I added another bird and then another, and then their thought balloons came to mind. I have watched seagulls fight over the pilings in the NJ bay during the summer — and they literally do battle each other for certain spots.
