I’m not gonna wax tragic about the fires (read my thoughts on LA here and here, get a sense of my neighborhood here). They suck and are bad. It’s weird there are so many of them at the same time, and I wanna know what’s up with that. John Mayer wrote eloquently about keepsakes and memory, which pisses me off because how the hell is John Mayer the guy to get it right? End times, truly.

I have many thoughts about gift guides. My first is that I love looking through them and discovering new items. Second is that they are sort of the gift equivalent of a Vogue editorial shoot: you could look/shop like that…but only one out of every seven or so pieces would ever make sense for real life.
