3.1. Decadal Analysis of Runoff Trends in Peninsular Malaysia and East MalaysiaThis paper combines datasets from DID-HP 11 and DID-HP 27 to create three decadal models: the 70PM, 80PM, and 90PM for Peninsular Malaysia. In East Malaysia, the combined datasets from DID-HP 11 and DID-HP 27 also created three decadal models: the 85EM, 90EM, and 2KEM.

Abstract:This study calibrated the Soil Conservation Service Curve Number (SCS-CN) model to predict decadal runoff in Peninsula Malaysia and found a correlation between the reduction of forest area, urbanization, and an increase in runoff volume. The conventional SCS-CN runoff model was found to commit a type II error in this study and must be pre-justified with statistics and calibrated before being adopted for any runoff prediction.
