WESTOVER — June marks the beginning of the annual Menards Food Drive to help give back to the community in Morgantown. The annual drive is held from June 1 until the end of July, according to Adam Stevens, general manager of the local Menards store. “We have a drop site and we’re partnering with the Pantry Plus More in town here,” Stevens said. “And we’re doing it for the months of June and July.

May 30—MORGANTOWN — A motorcycle rider involved in Thursday's accident on the Mileground has life-threatening injuries, according to the Monongalia County Sheriff's Department. At 2:10 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to the accident at the intersection of Mileground and Hartman Run roads. A press release states a Nissan Xterra was heading onto Hartman Run Road while a Yamaha motorcycle was traveling toward Easton Hill. The two vehicles collided head-on, throwing the rider off the motorcycle.

May 27—Town left without leadership two weeks before election TERRA ALTA—Mayor Dan Hauger announced his immediate resignation Tuesday morning, stepping down less than two years into his term and just weeks before Terra Alta's June 10 municipal election. Hauger had served as mayor for 23 months following the town's last municipal election. In a statement sent to the town council and town employees, Hauger said he had reached his physical and mental limits.
