As election results rolled in at his campaign headquarters on Queen Street, Casey told The Guardian the strong margin of victory was unexpected but deeply meaningful. With 68 of 77 polls reporting, Casey secured 13,147 votes, nearly 65 per cent of the total valid ballots cast.
