Oregon's roster turnover continued under Dan Lanning and company, as they lost 34 players to the transfer portal. The Ducks combated that by recruiting 29 true freshmen and 15 transfer portal additions. The results worked out well in the Ducks' fifth game of the season, beating Stanford 42-6. On average, in 2022, a Power Five program lost 16 players in the transfer portal last season. This year, that number ballooned to 18.5 scholarship athletes.
