Which, if you ask me, is kind of wrong - all states should probably have a dedicated dog (dogs are the best). As of last week, only 14 states in the country had a state dog...until April 30, 2025... Maine just joined the elite list of states to identify a state dog, and it is a very fitting and cute choice. The Seppala Siberian dog breed was originally bred to be sled dogs.
