    After almost two years of enduring construction and remodeling and still running a school, the construction projects at Ludington High School and the OJ DeJonge Middle School are finished and ready to be unveiled to the community. A ribbon cutting is set for 5-7 p.m. at the new high school entrance, one of the many changes designed into the project.

    Talk about a proposed Battery Energy Storage System facility being considered for Victory Township has merit. Jupiter Power officials confirmed that there are plans in the works to build a facility in Mason County similar to the other projects that the company has completed, but also said that it is too early to provide many details. “It’s at a very early stage of a project,” said Maggie Glynn, Senior Associate, Communications & Public Affairs for Jupiter Power.

    Photographers love a beautiful snowfall. It captures the beauty of winter, with the fluffy flakes clinging to branches, covering the ground and everything on it. But, winter is two-faced, as much of the region saw with the first snowfall of the season bringing slippery roads, strong winds and the threat of a winter storm.’According to the National Weather Service, most of West Michigan will remain under a winter storm warning from 5 p.m. Wednesday through 1 a.m. on Friday.

    According to reporting from The Detroit News, Mason County Prosecutor Beth Hand has been named in a petition filed by the parents of Denis Preska, a 21-year-old University of Detroit Mercy college student who died after unknowingly taking drugs while cramming for a test in 2017. The petition is seeking a reinvestigation and filing of criminal charges in relation to the death of their son on March 19, 2017.
