About this EventLearn how to make your own May Day headdress in this practical workshop where you will be working with natural wheat straw, creating your own hat or head piece inspired by a selection of traditional styles on display. Minimum age for attendees is twelve years old. During the workshop participants will use natural wheat straw. The work requires manual dexterity and some finger strength. Participants can choose to stand up or sit down during the making processes.

About this EventUsing tie dye and shibori techniques via elastic bands and string, participants will create resist patterns on handkerchief-sized squares of cloth. The workshop will be using multiple colours in different dye baths to achieve a wide range of colours and patterns. Many of the colours will be those used historically in the local area. This natural dye workshop will be faciliated by Sarah Weightman, Fashion Technician at London College of Fashion.
