The college football world received devastating news this Tuesday. Pete Medhurst, the voice of Navy football, has passed away at the age of 55 after a battle with cancer. Medhurst joined the Navy Radio Network in 1997. Over a decade later, he became the lead play-by-play man. In addition to calling Navy football games, he filled in as a play-by-play broadcaster for the Washington Nationals. Of course, we can't forget that he hosted shows for 106.7 The Fan.
