The U.S. Supreme Court on June 5 made it easier for workers to file so-called "reverse discrimination" lawsuits after siding with Ohio worker Marlean Ames who claimed she didn't get a job and was demoted because she is straight. The justices' unanimous decision, written by Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, will affect lawsuits in multiple states where a higher bar had been set for members of a majority group, such as white and heterosexual people, who could sue for discrimination under federal law.
