A mum has been left seething after her daughter's nursery began shortening her name, claiming it is "too hard to pronounce". Paris Tautu loves her daughter's name, Mahinarangi, which translates to 'moon in the sky' in Maori. But back in 2021 she was furious to learn that staff at the childcare centre in New Zealand started calling the then-five-year-old 'Rangi' due to their difficulty saying her full name.

Rainer Schmidt's love affair with Hull began in 1991 during a business trip when he stayed at Earlsmere Guesthouse in Sunny Bank and struck up a friendship with its owner Chris Lawson. Fast forward three decades and Rainer, 56, from northern Bavaria, and Chris are still close pals.
