1 Introduction Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer-related mortality in the United States, with 127,070 estimated deaths in 2023 [1]. Smoking cessation is the main way to prevent lung cancer among adults who smoke conventional cigarettes, whereas advances in early detection via low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) allow for the diagnosis of lung cancer at an earlier and more treatable stage, contributing to decreased mortality [2].
