The Counting Crows recorded their signature hits years before anyone knew who they were. For years they were a small band gigging in the Bay Area, playing what would become some of the signature songs of the 90s, singing at times about wishing for fame. The future is never certain. (Unless you can hit the Cooper Flagg jackpot.) But for the rest of the teams in the NBA, planning for the future is always an exercise in panic attacks. On June 28, the Raptors offloaded Jalen McDaniels — not an NBA-quality player, and paid quite a bit — for Davion Mitchell, a solid second-round draft pick (Jamal Shead was later selected), Sasha Vezenkov, and Portland’s 2025 second-round pick.

The Raptors' front office has made mistakes in recent seasons, sure. But 2024-25 was a home-run season. Masai Ujiri and company improved the talent, made smart financial choices, and gave the team better chances at better talent in the future. A+ https://t.co/izEw1VS7D7
