Volunteers from the area join together each year to provide music for the service. Dawna Bates added in an email this week, “Please join us for practices at the Latrobe Community Ministries, 440 Main St., (Wednesdays) June 11 and June 25, at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome. kAm“%96 D6CG:46 H:== 36 @? yF?6 ah 2E E96 !C6D3JE6C:2? r9FC49 @? |2:?

Memorial Day is a U.S. holiday for remembering those who died while serving in the country’s armed forces as well as our veterans who have passed away. Also called Decoration Day, Memorial Day originated “three years after the close of the American Civil War (1861-1865) to decorate the graves of comrades who died in defense of their country,” according to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs website. From that time on the observance was conducted by the Grand Army of the Republic. kAmx?
