    The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, said it arrested 19 suspected internet fraudsters in both Akwa Ibom and Cross River states. EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday. Oyewale said the operatives arrested 13 suspects at Atimbo and Lemna Trailer Park areas of Calabar in Cross River State, while six others were arrested at Idoro in Akwa Ibom State for their alleged involvement in cybercrimes.

    A Civil Society Group, Defenders of Integrity in Public Leadership (DIPL), has insisted on the prosecution of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan for alleged falsehood and calculated blackmail. The group restated the call for the Kogi Central senator’s prosecution on Thursday in a statement signed by Ibrahim Abdullahi. In the statement, Natasha was accused of making blanket allegations without any evidence to substantiate the claims.

    The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has received a new Sector Commander in Akwa Ibom. His name is Francis Ajatta from Lagos State, and he took over from Mr Edward Odiete, who has been promoted and posted to a higher capacity. The Command’s Public Enlightenment/Public Relations Officer, Mr Paul James, disclosed this in a statement in Uyo on Thursday.
