Out of 32 patients, 15 (46.9%) were males and 17 (53.1%) were females, with a median age at diagnosis of 50 years (range: 32–80). All patients were diagnosed with stage III CM, mostly affecting the trunk (59.4%), limbs (34.4%), and head/neck (6.2%). Lymph node involvement was observed in 29/32 patients (90.6%). Basal lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) levels (normal range 250–450 UI/L) ranged from 231 to 543 UI/L in the cohort, with a median LDH level of 346 UI/L.

. The diagnosis and monitoring of leptomeningeal metastases (LM) from solid tumors are challenging. CSF liquid biopsy can recapitulate the biology of LM and reveal molecular heterogeneity as compared with primary solid tumors. Although most of studies are retrospective and comprise small, heterogeneous cohorts of patients, CSF CTCs or ctDNA could improve the accuracy of the initial diagnosis of leptomeningeal metastasis, when associated with CSF cytology.
