A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in place for our Oklahoma counties and a few southcentral Kansas counties through 10 PM Sunday. These storms are in an environment that will fuel them and allow them to become severe, producing large hail and strong winds quickly. An Enhanced Risk for severe weather is in place for our Oklahoma counties today, with a Slight Risk for a large section of Southern Kansas. Storms will be capable of producing all hazards today, though the tornado threat is on the lower end.

A large portion of southwest Kansas has been upgraded to an Enhanced Risk for severe weather this evening as a wave of energy enters the state. The warmth and humidity across the region today have created an environment primed to fuel storms as this piece of moisture arrives. Storms will begin to fester this evening along the Colorado state line after 5 PM. Strong winds and hail will be the primary concerns.

After a warm and sunny day, southerly winds will take control tonight and pull humidity into the Sunflower State. Temperatures will sit in the 50s and 60s by daybreak with clear and starry skies. We stay clear for the first half of Monday, but southerly winds crank up the humidity and heat. Highs will flirt with the 90s in some areas ahead of our next round of showers and storms. A boundary will track through the region tomorrow evening, bringing the potential for strong to severe storms.
