The flagship Neiman Marcus store in Downtown Dallas will remain open after an agreement was reached with the Slaughter family and the City of Dallas. In February the the company's new owners, Saks Global, announced they were being forced to close the landmark location. The ground lease on the flagship store ended on Jan. 31, 2025, and was extended to March 31, 2025.

Johnson County officials declared a state of disaster on Tuesday after the discovery of "forever chemicals" in local agricultural land. The contamination comes from perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances, commonly known as PFAS, that stem from contaminated biosolids fertilizer. Testing confirmed PFAS contamination in soil, groundwater, surface water and animal tissue throughout the affected area.

The Supreme Court will hear the arguments from Texas in January to uphold a Texas law that requires pornographic companies to require age verification on websites. In 2023, the State of Texas put a law in place to protect minors from pornographic content online. A day before the law was supposed to go into effect, a U.S. District Judge struck the law down. Over a year later, several lawsuits have been filed and SCOTUS is expected to hear the case.
