That was me on Friday, when I finally decided to get the helix piercing in the upper cartilage of my ear I’d been deliberating for months. I’m celebrating my 30th next Saturday ahead of my awkwardly-timed Christmas Day birthday, so it seemed like a good time. For most people, that decision would just mean a quick google to find a piercing place and then heading out the door.
