Credit Suisse Pensionskasse increased its allocation to real assets by CHF1bn (€1bn) last year, taking total investments in the asset class to over CHF9bn and surpassing its strategic allocation target. The pension scheme, which serves former employees of Swiss bank Credit Suisse – acquired by UBS in 2023 – now holds 51.3% of its CHF17.6bn in total assets in real assets, according to its 2024 financial statement.

Versorgungsanstalt des Bundes und der Länder (VBL), the €65bn German supplementary pension provider for public sector employees, will face a court ruling on the transparency of its investments. The Karlsruhe Administrative Court has scheduled a hearing for 16 July, newspaper Börsen‑Zeitung reported, citing a court spokesperson. Swiss multi-employer pension fund Asga Pensionskasse is planning to make its first foray into private debt, a niche asset class among pension funds in Switzerland, as it reviews its strategic asset allocation. According to its 2024 financial statement, Asga intends to expand its investment strategy to include private debt, although no allocations will be made before the end of 2026, chief investment officer Frank Wigger told IPE.
