    Samuel Griffin remembers how busy the scene was in the so-called Devil’s Triangle in the ’90s – the area in Northeast El Paso enclosed by U.S. 54, Hondo Pass and Dyer streets that is now better known as the Angel’s Triangle. Griffin, who owned a record store in the area for more than 10 years, said the area had a drive-in theater and busy retail stores. Drugs were a problem then, but now, he says, the proliferation of fentanyl is significantly changing the character of the neighborhood.

    Work has started on El Paso Electric’s $17 million solar farm in San Elizario, which will help the utility curtail its carbon emissions and expand its Community Solar program. Executives broke ground on the facility Tuesday in far east El Paso County. When finished, 18,930 solar panels will harvest energy from the sun across 70 acres.
