SXSW is filled with so many great and wonderful experiences each year. There’s just so much happening throughout the city but sometimes it can get overwhelming. We always find ourselves needing to detach and head somewhere to just relax for a bit. This year that came in the form on Holey Moley in Austin. I was aware of Holey Moley but hadn’t quite taken it all in until this year. We were lucky enough to get the opportunity to come by and relish in all it had to offer.

Wicked is the latest film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical of the same name. The film stars Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda. In Wicked we follow the story of how Elphaba became the Wicked Witch of The West in The Wizard Of Oz. It’s truly a story of outsiders and acceptance that feels very timely. I want to start off by saying that I am not too familiar with the story of Wicked and the film was my introduction to it.

Fantastic Fest is only a couple of days away deep in the heart of Texas where genre lives! The festival has become one of our most anticipated events of the film year. We’re excited to be covering the festival again and with that a new slate of films we can’t wait to watch.
