We’re getting closer to crowing New Jersey state champions in boys lacrosse as the state tournament has entered its second full week. Non-Public teams take the field on Friday, and two of the top teams in the state will battle it out to clinch a berth in the Non-Public final next week. Fourth-ranked Don Bosco Prep travels to take on No. 1 Delbarton at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, and NJ.com will be the exclusive home for the game’s broadcast as subscribers can watch the game for free.

Over the past year, Delsea junior Hannah Nuhfer realized she needed to work on the technical aspects when it came to throwing the discus. She established herself as one of the state’s best as a sophomore, finishing second in the Meet of Champions. Nuhfer found something within herself last season at the MOCs, realizing she was loose with herself and finding the right balance between her technical work and her mindset.

It took Livingston senior Jessica Oji three throws to settle in. Oji, who is going to UPenn and is among the best shot putters in the country, fouled during her first two attempts on Wednesday. All she had to do to qualify for the final was to had a good enough throw, which she did. Once she qualified for the final, she settled in and found her stride.

Heading into the final javelin throw of her career, Sparta senior Isabella Frattura thought she had so much more to give. She had already clinched the Meet of Champions championship with a throw of 141-2 with her first attempt of the day. But Frattura, who is committed to Liberty, had it in her to end her career with a personal best.

The 2025 New Jersey boys lacrosse state tournament continues on Monday, and one of the state’s top teams will go on the road to face a tough test. Ramapo, the No. 18 team in the NJ.com Top 20, travels to take on Ridge in the quarterfinals of the North Jersey, Group 3 state tournament at 5 p.m. on Monday. And NJ.com subscribers can watch the game for free. Fifth-seeded Ramapo enters Monday’s matchup with a 14-4 record and defeated Millburn in the first round.
