Sue Liddy, the second-winningest girls basketball coach in state history, has been asked to step down from her position at Holy Angels by the school. The Bergen Record was the first to report the news of Liddy’s impending resignation. A staple in North Jersey athletics, Liddy has been the school’s girls basketball coach since 1974, winning 820 games — second behind fellow Bergen County coaching legend Jeff Jasper, who has guided Pascack Valley to 1,137 victories.

Two of the top girls lacrosse programs in the state will meet for a regular-season matchup on Thursday, and you can watch it live. Morristown, the No. 14 team in the NJ.com Top 20, hosts No. 4 Oak Knoll at 11 a.m., and NJ.com subscribers can watch the game for free. Oak Knoll suffered its first in-state loss late last week when it lost to Summit, while Morristown is looking to bounce back in a big way after being upset by Madison.
