An offbeat comedy with an uncommonly sober ending, “Love’s Labour’s Lost” has the capacity to both delight and move audiences with its clever wit and emotional agility. However, the production running through Jan. 26 at the Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse seems unaware of these virtues. Despite a couple of standout moments, this staging is unseasoned, boilerplate Shakespeare at its most monotonous.

Emerson Collins and Blake McIver’s “Christmas Actually,” performing Dec. 16 at Out Front Theatre, is both of these things and more. Inspired by Collins and McIver’s differing relationships to the holiday season, this festive extravaganza features different arrangements of various Yuletide tunes.

    Less than three weeks ago, then-No. 2 Boston College men’s hockey fell to UConn 5–4 after the Eagles collapsed in the beginning of the second period. Jacob Fowler, BC’s anchor in net, let up three goals in the span of less than five minutes, and released a frustration punch that connected with the Huskies’ Tristan Fraser. Fowler was assessed a game misconduct, ejected, and the Eagles never fully recovered in the game.

    If Ryan Leonard takes the ice for Boston College men’s hockey in the 2024-25 season, chances are he is going to find the back of the net. Entering No. 3 BC’s Friday night matchup against cross-town rival Northeastern, Leonard had totaled eight goals through 10 games, and was on a four-game goal scoring streak. Less than five minutes into the Eagles’ tilt against the Huskies, Leonard extended that streak to five.
