LINCOLN -- The Beatrice girls tennis team competed at the NSAA State Tennis Meet Thursday at the Woods Tennis Center in Lincoln. Jorja Boller played No. 1 singles for the Lady O. The junior picked up an 8-1 win in her first round match over Addison Brown of St. Paul. In her second match, Boller dropped an 8-4 decision to No. 9 seed Marin Brummund of Skutt Catholic. Senior Monet Baehr played No. 2 singles for Beatrice.

Diller-Odell's Myleigh Weers was able to repeat as state champion in the 800-meter run on Saturday at the NSAA State Track Meet in Omaha. Weers, a senior, finished with a time of 2:20.87, which beat second place Shelby Schoene of Bertrand, who finished with a time of 2:21.68. Weers was able to follow that up with a fourth place finish in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:28.18. Those two medals are in addition to the fifth place medal she won in the 400-meter dash on Friday.

Freeman's Evan Ault will be running in two finals events Saturday at the NSAA State Track and Field Meet. Ault ran in the preliminaries of the 110-meter hurdles. His time of 14.45 was third best in Class C, which qualifies him for the finals. Ault also had a fourth best preliminary time of 11.01 in the 100-meter dash, which also qualifies him for finals. Hudson Vetrovsky also qualified for finals in the 110-hurdles with a fourth best preliminary time of 14.98.

Diller-Odell's Myleigh Weers got her NSAA State Track Meet off to a good start Friday in the 400-meter dash at Burke Stadium in Omaha. Weers, competing in Class D, earned a fifth place medal in the event with a time of 59.48. She will look to defend her state title in the 800-meter run on Saturday and is also expected to finish well in the 1,600-meter run. For the Diller-Odell boys, Teghan Rosebaugh competed in the preliminaries of the 100-meter dash.
