Beatrice scored runs in the last three innings against AShland-Greenwood on Saturday to pull away for the 9-3 win. With the win, the Orangemen improve to 5-6 on the season. Ashland-Greenwood struck first with a run in the first inning. A single, a stolen base, a sacrifice bunt and a passed ball led to the run, making it 1-0 early. Beatrice's offense would break through for two runs in the top of the third inning. With one out, Kale Koch would reach second base on an error and then stole third.

MILFORD -- The Beatrice boys and girls track and field teams traveled to the Milford Invite on Friday. The Beatrice boys finished with 73 points, which put them in third place behind Milford's 145 and Grand Island CC's 74. Tri County finished fourth with 56 and David City was fifth with 51. The Beatrice girls finished with 66 points, which put them in fourth place behind Adams Central's 117, David City's 82 and Grand Island Central Catholic's 79. Milford finished fifth with 64.

Beatrice senior Jaedyn Baxa has decided to continue her swimming career at the University of Nebraska-Kearney. Baxa is a four-time state qualifier, two-time Trailblazer Academic All-Conference swimming recipient, two-time Academic All-State swimming recipient, and team captain. She has also qualified for my club’s regional swim meet every year since I was 8-years oldWhat were your reasons for choosing UNK? I chose the University of Nebraska-Kearney because I enjoyed my visit when I met the team.
