Welcome to our coverage for first practice for the 2025 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, from the Jeddah Corniche Circuit. This will be the fifth race of the current season and the end of a triple-header that began with Japan and continued with Bahrain last week. This is the fifth edition of the race, with Lewis Hamilton winning the first edition in 2022 and Red Bull (through Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez) winning the next three between them.

So far this season there has been an element of history repeating for Hamilton. The Ferrari cars appear to have been running divergent set-ups - as was the case at Mercedes in the previous three seasons - and that has rarely worked for Hamilton. Leclerc revealed after qualifying that he had been running an "extreme" configuration that makes the car trickier to drive, but works for his driving style. Hamilton shone further light on that after the race.

Lewis Hamilton’s start to life at Ferrari has been a bruising one. One sprint race pole and victory in China aside, it has been a tale of pain in his new life at the Scuderia. Worryingly, the area where he struggled most last season – his worst in Formula One – has again been his weak point. Lando Norris is not a man to hide his emotions. At various points during a scrappy Bahrain Grand Prix weekend, he admitted that he was not doing a good enough job. After another mistake in qualifying, he said he felt like he had never driven a Formula One car before. After victory in the opening race in Australia, Norris is enduring a tricky period. More worryingly, though, he does not appear to have dispelled his demons from the second half of 2024.
