COLUMBIA — South Carolina softball is one win away from advancing to the Women’s College World Series after a 9-2 victory over the UCLA Bruins in Game 1 of the Carolina Super Regional on May 23. The best-of-three series now heads to Game 2 on May 24 (1 p.m. ET, ESPN) at Carolina Softball Stadium with the Gamecocks (44-15) on the verge of their first trip to the WCWS since 1997. After the Gamecocks built a 5-0 lead through three innings, the Bruins (52-11) battled back with two runs in the fourth.
