The King’s Great Seal of the Realm has been unveiled. The Great Seal is the symbol of Sovereign authority and is traditionally affixed to State documents. Each Monarch has their own, unique Great Seal. King Charles recently approved the new Great Seal of the Realm and the Counter Seal at a meeting of the Privy Council. His Majesty then entrusted it into the custody of the Lord High Chancellor of Great Britain. The Great Seal of the Realm bears an engraving of King Charles III seated on a throne.

He’s about to become the youngest heir to the throne in Europe but this little prince called Charles has more important things on his mind. Luxembourg’s Prince Charles is turning five and, as you’d expect, he’s placing a lot of importance on his birthday cake. Charles, who will become first in line to Luxembourg’s throne in just few months’ time, has been seen celebrating his big day with his parents, Guillaume and Stephanie, as they prepare for a huge moment.

A rose has been named in honour of the Princess of Wales, to celebrate the healing power of nature. Catherine’s Rose also celebrates the positive impact that being outside has on both mental and physical health. It’s been developed by Harkness Roses and money from its sale will go to the Royal Marsden Cancer charity which helps patients across the country who are living with cancer. The Princess of Wales underwent cancer treatment at the Royal Marsden Hospital.

The new Pope has greeted huge crowds in St. Peter’s Square, just moments after his election. Leo XIV walked on to the balcony overlooking the famous square in Rome to cheers and applause as evening fell on May 8 2025. Just under an hour earlier, white smoke had appeared from the chimney on the loggia above St. Peter’s signalling that the cardinals in conclave had chosen a new Pontiff.

The King and Queen have unveiled the Coronation State portraits, an official record of the moment they were crowned. All monarchs and consorts have Coronation portraits and Their Majesties revealed theirs for the first time on the second anniversary of the ceremony. The paintings were shown at the National Gallery but they form part of the Royal Collection.
