As anyone who has tried to pursue pottery as a hobby will tell you, there are ample courses for beginners but virtually none for advanced or experienced potters in this city. Those with a bit of experience on the wheel are invariably forced to down their sponges, when they progress past the basics, as there aren’t studio spaces available for them to pursue further.

NTA has selected a company to roll out contactless fare payments on buses, trains and trams. Spanish defence and technology company Indra which calls itself “one of the leading global defence, aerospace and technology companies” has been awarded the job of installing contactless payments or tap-on payments which are in use across much of Europe and the rest of the Western world.

The Temple Bar Gallery + Studios will embark on a four-month residency at the Dublin Port Company [DPC] Pumphouse. The gallery will be showing two solo exhibitions from Yuri Pattison and Liliane Puthod running simultaneously called ‘Longest Way Round, Shortest Way Home’. In Dublin Port, the Victorian-era Pumphouse is set beside a now-infilled graving dock (dry dock) which acts like a terrace, the building formerly housed the steam engine which powered the gates of Graving Dock 1.
