The Stellenbosch Business School graduation forms part of the Economic & Management Sciences (EMS) faculty's graduation ceremony, which was held on 11 December 2024. It has been a lifelong dream of Dr Viljoen to obtain her PhD.

    Participating in the 2024 FNB Varsity Cup has been an awakening of note for FNB UWC as the 2023 FNB Varsity Shield champions find themselves at the bottom of the log.  Paul Treu and his coaching staff worked hard in the off-season and knew they were the underdogs. They still managed to put together a formidable squad, who despite being winless, have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience.

    With only three round-robin games left of the 2024 FNB Varsity Shield competition, FNB CPUT find themselves in unfamiliar territory. The 2023 runners-up have only won one match and are having to hope for a few balls to hop in their favour to make the playoffs.  But despite being seventh on the log, they are on equal points with fourth-placed FNB WSU whom they will host on 5 April. CPUT will be hoping to get the most log points from their remaining three matches, two of which are away.

    On Friday 28 July, the greater Helderberg community and its surrounds mourned the tragic loss of a remarkable individual, Thobela Terrence Nduna, who left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered, including his alma maters Somerset West Methodist Primary School, also known by the name given to its rugby team the Metho Squirrels, and Gordon High School. Nduna was also the head boy at the former.
