HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A man who terrorized a young woman in East Oahu six years ago is getting out of prison. The woman, who asked that Hawaii News Now show her face and use her name, says that’s not right. Aoi Shinagawa told a Circuit Court judge Thursday that she did not approve the plea deal and sentence for the man who terrorized her, Austin Quale Joseph. Joseph served six years for the 2019 attack and has been released on probation.
