Spring break comes to a close, and it’s back to school for the stretch run with less than two months remaining. I certainly hope everyone had a safe and fun week, whether you went anywhere or not. I saw a lot of families and students around town enjoying a “stay-cation,” including some farm families. And with the gorgeous weather, it gave our farmers a chance to get an early start putting their crops into the ground and hopefully ease some of the stress typically associated with planting season.

Last Friday was Senior Night at Ricebird Arena, and the first game saw the Senior Girls Basketball team finish a fantastic regular season in thrilling fashion with a dramatic win over a great Forrest City team! In the process, they avenged their only conference loss of the season, which occurred earlier in the year at Forrest City, and won the conference championship with a 9-1 conference record. Their warm-up shirts say “Change The Culture,” and they’ve certainly done that.
