1 Introduction In this study, we examine whether investor sentiment impacts the extent to which investors demand information about a company around important corporate events. Investor sentiment refers to the level of optimism/pessimism held by market participants about future price changes in the overall market that is not supported by fundamentals (Baker and Wurgler 2006), that is, the general mood of investors (Nofsinger 2005).
