    Visitors of all ages can experience life in the military with the opening of “You’re inthe Army Now: Camp Grant, Rockford’s Legacy,” a permanent interactive exhibit at Midway Village Museum Center. A crowd of 1,200 enthusiastic patrons attended a public open house Feb. 22-23 to kick off the exhibit’s debut. “This is the first new permanent exhibit we have had in over a decade,” said Luke Fredrickson, marketing director at Midway Village Museum.

    Teresa Field has many roles as an OSF parish nurse for Rockford area churches. She’s a patient advocate, a healthcare resource and a spiritual comfort to those she serves. Whatever her workday brings, Field meets each patient with a commitment to care and awhole-person approach fostered by faith. Field is one of three parish nurses employed by OSF St. Anthony Medical Center which provides outreach to six Rockford area churches.

    As animals around the Midway Village Museum campus in Rockford lie dormant for the winter, Soxanne, the museum’s giant fiberglass sock monkey mascot, is also in hibernation for some much-needed repairs and restoration. “Soxanne has been outside the museum’s main entrance for 20 years exposed to the elements which have weathered the statue,” said Midway marketing director Luke Frederickson. “After being around for 20 years, it’s understandable that repairs would be necessary.
