1 IntroductionBioprospecting enables researchers to explore biodiversity, and identify novel molecules, enzymes and microbes relevant to research and industrial applications (Beattie et al., 2011; AfifaHussain et al., 2022). Bioprospecting strategies can be sub-divided into microorganisms (metagenomics), enzymes (transcriptomics/proteomics), or individual molecules (metabolomics).
