The extent of introgression, however, can vary considerably even when it occurs: for example, introgression can be geographically restricted or so pervasive that populations merge. MethodsA discrete choice experiment (DCE) [11, 12] and best-worst scaling (BWS) exercises [13] were developed for use in this study. DCEs are used to model the trade-offs and preferences revealed by the choices that people make. DCEs utilize a survey (which CaPPRe administers via an online questionnaire) that presents participants with hypothetical treatment scenarios which may or may not map to actual treatment options in the market.
