(WWBT) - It’s not just people suffering from allergies - pet allergies are on the rise, too. “It’s real,” said Christie Chipps-Peters with Richmond Animal Care and Control. “We’ve had animals we’ve done full diagnostic testing (on).”Like humans, pets can be allergic to grass, pollen, dust and certain foods. Chipps-Peters says a change in your pet’s behavior can be a sign that your pet is having an allergic reaction. “Any swelling anywhere” is one sign of allergies," she said.

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - We all feel it any time we make a purchase. There’s just no relief from the impact of inflation. It’s an especially hard hit for small business owners. Hundreds of shops have closed their doors in recent years because they couldn’t afford to stay open. Despite inflation cooling, business owners in the Richmond region say they feel there’s no real relief in sight. Twin Hickory Tavern located in Henrico County is one of many restaurants working to make ends meet.

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - Do you love comfort food? Then look no further. Maple Street Biscuit Company opened its third location across the Richmond region on Tuesday. The new spot is located at 14412 Hull Street Road in Chesterfield. Digital Marketing Manager Kate Knight says staff got to work early. They opened their doors at 7 a.m.“They have worked so hard, and they are killing it this morning. They’re doing a great job,” Knight said. Knight says the first 25 customers received a $100 gift card.
