I ordered the Miss Maple sandwich, an over-medium egg and cheddar cheese on an English muffin with maple butter – and wow. It’s true that once you try a homemade English muffin, the store-bought ones don’t even begin to compare.

Criminal charges were filed Tuesday against an 18-year-old Massachusetts driver who collided with a school bus in Lunenburg, police said. The driver, who has not been identified, admitted to being on a cellphone, which caused them to drift into the other lane and led to a head-on collision with the school bus, which was carrying about 20 riders. The Lunenburg Police Department and Lunenburg Fire Rescue responded to the scene on the 1300 block of Lancaster Avenue Tuesday morning.

A turtle who was the unlucky recipient of a golf ball to the shell at a golf course on Cape Cod is in Cape Wildlife Center’s care and doing well, the center said. The painted turtle, who lives in one of the course’s water features, was determined to have been struck by a golf ball based on what Cape Wildlife Center described as “an unmistakable divot.”“After sizing up the injury we are convinced there is only one logical cause,” it said in a Facebook post.

The Brookline Police Department issued a warning to residents Tuesday following an increase in reported coyote sightings and interactions in the city. Two coyotes, emerging from a wooded area, attacked a dog Monday, police said. The owner was able to free the dog and leave the area.

On Longfellow Road, a quiet dead-end street just off Mount Auburn Street, one 85-year-old woman has lived in the same West Cambridge house her whole life. Jocelyn Giunta left that house for one year, actually, when her husband, John – they met in the Russell elementary school, which closed in 1972 – serving in the Navy. She stayed to raise her own family.

An 18-year-old Falmouth High School senior was killed in a single-vehicle crash Saturday night, officials said. Officers from the Falmouth Police Department and the Falmouth Fire and Rescue Department said they were called to Acapesket Road late Saturday night. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time,” they wrote on Facebook.

A man was arrested in Belmont Saturday night after he allegedly stole a pickup truck and trailer that was loaded with an Arlington/Belmont crew team’s racing sculls. The Cambridge Police Department said the truck was reported stolen to Arlington police, and that it was involved in several hit-and-run crashes that caused non-life-threatening injuries and significant property damage.

The Cambridge Police Department are investigating a sexual assault that allegedly occurred in the Harvard Square area Thursday night. “Preliminary information indicates that the victim was walking in the vicinity of Harvard Square when two unidentified individuals wearing black ski masks and gloves approached and forced the victim into a nearby alley,” police said in a statement. Police said the victim was later brought to a local hospital for medical evaluation and treatment.
