Jericho Street Fest is due to delight residents and visitors with three days of revelry in June with a market stall fair, community running event and and saint's feast day all thrown into the mix. This year marks 200 years of Jericho, the date which historians estimate the neighbourhood itself came to exist, making the festival "doubly special," according to organisers.

Water Minister Emma Hardy warned that the country will face “water rationing like we have in the Mediterranean” without new reservoirs. It comes as controversial plans to start on massive infrastructure projects near Abingdon are pushed ahead by Labour with the South East Strategic Reservoir south west of the town expected to be nearly as big as Gatwick Airport, holding 150 billion litres of water.

3 1/1 A petition has been launched calling for stricter enforcement of a rule which bans cyclists from using a popular city park. Hinksey Park users in Oxford have started a campaign asking the city council to employ its powers as the landowner to punish cyclists using the park as a “shortcut”. But one councillor has said she’d rather “use taxpayers’ money” on practical improvements that “everyone can enjoy”.
